This rustic rope door mat is based on an Ocean Plait Mat, which has been used by sailors for centuries.

Jute is hard wearing and has been used for centuries for ropemaking as well as cloth. It is still grown sustainably  . We love the blond colours and texture. It looks great in a country kitchen or beach house doorway.
